Field Trips -Saturday. December 8, 2007 -- Northeast section of the Tyler Christmas count circle with Tyler Audubon.  This is a chance to bird an area with which most of us are unfamiliar, but has a variety of habitats and birds.  We will start at the lake in the Deer Run development in Chapel Hill, which had 6 Red-breasted Mergansers on Nov 25.  We will then drive to nearby woodlands and fields for wintering landbirds and raptors. Much of the birding will be by the side of the road.  This is a half-day trip.  Directions: Meet at 8:00 am at the Valero gas station on Hwy 64 in Chapel Hill, east of Tyler, just opposite the Chapel Hill High School.  There is a large “Deer Run” sign here.  We will carpool as much as possible from this spot.  For more information contact Peter Barnes (903-839-8359 or peter.barnes(at)uthct.edu), or Cheryle Beck (beck(at)tyler.net).
